Also, Nobody Needs To Spend $32.9 Million On A House. Not Even Harry And Meghan
-
It's 30,000 square feet large. It has a ballroom, salt water pool, tennis court, wine tasting room, chandeliers, a heated driveway, 19 bathrooms. It's been for sale for a decade. But the Alpine, NJ mansion, priced now at $32.9 million, can't find a buyer, despite a price cut from $68 million to $36 million and now to the present bargain rate. The owner blames New Jersey and Alpine's high property taxes -- around $300,000 a year. But if you can afford $30 million on a house, $300,000 is a drop in the bucket, so is that it? Or is it that the damn thing is insanely expensive and overpriced for the market, even if the market is the ultra-rich who populate that town? (It's one of the wealthiest and most celebrity-laden towns in America.) (Bergen Record)
