Plus Overdue Fines

Many articles have been written about the quaint towns along the Canada-New England border and how some, like Derby Line, VT, have buildings and homes that straddle the border, particularly the landmark library and opera house that's half in the U.S. and half in Canada. And you wonder, can't someone walk in on one side and walk out on another? Yes, but, as in the case of a Polish woman who entered the building in Canada and left in the U.S., they get caught. She walked through, tried to grab a cab, and was promptly taken into custody. She'd previously tried to get into the country in Niagara Falls and got turned back there. Not gonna happen for her, evidently. (WCAX-TV/Burlington)
