You want a good screwed-up-bureaucracy story? Brexit has led to European nationals having to apply to the British Home Office for permission to remain residents in the U.K. One man did so, and his application got held up because the Home Office insisted that his parents confirm his identity. The applicant is 101 years old. His parents aren't likely to confirm anything. The Home Office has relented. Fingers are being pointed at a "computer glitch," but you know some bureaucrat was involved. They always are. (The Guardian)
