A lawsuit in Pennsylvania over a defective dog leash may change a lot about Amazon. It's contending that under Pennsylvania law, Amazon is liable for the actions of its third party sellers, an argument that hasn't succeeded elsewhere but stands a chance in PA. Amazon claims protection under the law that says ISPs aren't responsible for what users do on their sites, but if this case finds that Pennsylvania law governs, and Amazon is held liable, you'll see Amazon clear out the countless sketchy parties selling stuff through the site, which is, after all, something Amazon should have done long ago.
