They've determined that the Hadza of Tanzania have a sedate lifestyle akin to your average office worker who sits in a cubicle all day. But the Hadza don't get cardiovascular disease and other life-shortening maladies like office workers do. What's the difference? Simple: They squat a lot. No, really, they kneel and squat instead of sitting on a chair or standing. And that, some people think, is the secret. If it is, could you spend more time squatting? My knees would not accept that situation, myself. (The Guardian)
