How About 'We're All In This Together, In A Way That Doesn't Take Privilege Into Account'?
-
This post takes issue with celebrities and politicians saying "we’re all in this together" when rich people are not remotely in the same boat as the poor and middle class. And some people are, indeed, luckier than others right now. The issue is whether the phrase applies because we all have to stay at home and we're all facing a terrible disease and an uncertain future, or whether the privilege of having a fancy roof overhead, plenty of supplies, and no pressing debt puts the elite in a different category from the rest of society.
