Turns out there's actually a word for the annoying slurping and chewing noise you make while eating: "misophonia." Isolation and quarantine have increased people's annoyance with their families over this. And it's a real problem, because it's a physical, not a psychological, response. Sounds set off a fight-or-flight response in some people's brains. And there's not a lot you can do about it; you can fo to the doctor, but a lot of the "treatment" involves dealing with the psychological -- anxiety, for example. If you're the noisy one, though, try to be a little more refined at the table, okay? (CNN)
