Lotta Fuss For A Cover Band
-
And now for a story that's not related to, well, you know. This one's a little music history, about a group called the Beetles that took South America by storm in 1964. Not the Beatles. The "American Beetles." Yes, it was a scam, a promoter taking advantage of the unavailability of the real Beatles to have a band made up of four Americans with long hair head down to play and, well, they were found out pretty quickly, but in the meantime practically an entire industry cropped up of fake Beatles playing countries where the real Beatles would be unavailable. It's a bizarre side note in music history. (BBC)
