Teens Are Invulnerable. Just Ask Them
-
Last week, I went to pick up a to-go order from our favorite pizza place in Redondo Beach and there were about a dozen teens in front of the store, clustered and obviously not social distancing. A couple of older gentlemen asked them to spread out, and the teens jeered or ignored them. I stayed away from all of them, but I wondered whether their parents cared, because I'd think that parents would tell their kids not to go out and hang out with friends, knowing that teens will not socially distance themselves if unsupervised. As this New York Times article notes, it's hard for parents to police their teens in the pandemic, and I wonder if you can get listeners to talk about what they do to try and keep their kids from making a huge and potentially fatal mistake.
