One of the things you may have encountered in the pandemic is the dilemma over how not to take a phone call or Zoom conference. The issue: You're not fooling anyone if you just don't take the call or claim you're going to be busy or out of the office. Everyone knows where you are, and that you're always there. This article suggests polite ways to beg off a call, the most effective being simply to be honest. Say you don't want to talk right now, or that you're taking some time away from your devices, which you should absolutely do. In fact, I'm gonna do that right now. Excuse me. (New York Times)
