Cracker Jack Futures Must Also Be Selling At Record Lows
-
What are growers going to do with all those ballpark peanuts with ballparks closed to fans? About 1/5 of all Virginia peanuts -- that's the breed -- are sold in ballparks. Without ballparks, there's a much smaller market for those. They don't store particularly well, either. The industry is planning promotions like giveaways to get people to consider buying the peanuts at the grocery for home consumption. But there are still going to be too many peanuts. Maybe they can drop them off at my house; I may not be able to eat all of them, but I can give it a good shot. (New York Times)
