We'll Always Have Polaroid
-
Olympus is selling off its camera business, and it's another case of a very familiar brand going away because its core business is in a way obsolete. The digital camera business is tough, and the classic 35mm SLR is a relic of the past. Unlike Canon, which went heavily into printers, Olympus couldn't adapt well enough. They want to be a lens maker for other companies, but the cameras are headed to oblivion. What other brands did you think would always be around, but aren't? (BBC)
