How Many Cold Shower Breaks Can You Take During The Day?
-
Herewith, some tips for working at home in a heat wave with no A/C, and I could have written this, considering I've been working at home for decades and we don't have A/C ("you don't need it," they said. "You're by the ocean, it's cool there," they said. They lied). The tips: Undress, open the windows but close the curtains to keep it dark, hydrate, eat light, go outside but don't work there (oh, sure, that'll work), drive around with the A/C on for 10 minutes (then come home and sweat all over again), work early and late so you don't have to work in the hot midday, and, for some reason, they say not to buy a fan. I would use a fan, actually. Ceiling fans AND desk fans AND stand-up fans AND whatever fans you can find. See? I could have written a better article. (The Guardian)
