Maybe Let's Not Hold A Block Party This Year

Imagine being, as the writer of this column is, a Black person in a white neighborhood reading the comments on Nextdoor about the protests. I've thought about this a lot lately, because one thing Nextdoor does is teach you a lot about your neighbors, and it can be appalling. My own neighborhood is debating a local church's Black Lives Matter sign, and it's roughly half positive and half outright racist. You KNOW that there are people like that in your neighborhood, but reading their comments is still a little shocking. What's it like in your town? (Los Angeles Times)
