Someone Skipped History Class

The New Jersey high school yearbook allowed seniors to pick their own representative quotes. One student chose "88." That, in case you don't know, is a Nazi reference. (H is the 8th letter of the alphabet. 88 = HH = Heil Hitler.) Parents of other students want the book recalled and reprinted without the Nazi comment. But there's also the matter of what has to be wrong with a kid who'd choose to not only put a Nazi comment by his name -- whether a joke or serious -- but have it there to live on for a lifetime, something for his classmates to remember him by. Who wants to be remembered as "the Nazi"? And what kind of faculty adviser sees that and lets it go into print? (NJ Advance Media/NJ.com)
