What Would Vin Scully Do?

Baseball telecasts aren't what they used to be. You know that announcers are calling the games remotely rather than going on the road, single camera crews are doing "world feed" telecasts for both teams rather than have individual feeds... the real question is, is this the future of televised sports, because it's cheaper? Is this going to lead to announcers who don't have the benefit of talking to players and coaches to get insight? Will this lead to missed calls because the announcers couldn't see the play on their monitors? And did this open the door to more fake crowds and fake noise, or did we already open that when networks added advertising to the background that isn't in the actual stadium? (New York Times)
