There's Opportunity Everywhere
-
Necessity and invention and all that: This woman owned a tiny fashion boutique in L.A. When the shutdown came, her store was not allowed to open, being "not essential." But she noticed that flower wholesalers COULD stay open, so she simply went to the flower market, bought $500 worth of flowers, made 36 bouquets, and charged $25 each. Result: She made a thousand bucks. And then she went back to the flower market, bought up a bunch of houseplants, and sold them out in 45 minutes via social media. Result: She now has a houseplant shop, it's open and thriving, and sh's now hired an assistant and plans a truck to do pop-up sales. So she went from facing extinction to a raging success. It CAN happen, even in a pandemic. (Los Angeles Times)
