This crime report about a shooting at a semi-pro football game in Pennsauken, NJ is, on one level, a story of how even sporting events of zero consequence can lead to passion flaring up, It is also, on another level, a reminder that semi-pro football, and semi-pro sports, still exist. I didn't know that. I grew up with semi-pro baseball as a given in my town -- even Jim Bouton pitched in the local semi-pro league between stints in the majors -- and I assumed that it all went away. Nope. (Philadelphia Inquirer)
