Whatever You Do, Don't Look Under The Bed
-
Hotels say they're cleaning their rooms extra-well due to the pandemic, and they tout their new procedures. But travelers say that the rooms are still dirty. Masks aren't being universally worn, random items are left unswept, common areas are grungy... not a good sign. Part of the problem is that many hotels that are part of chains are independently owned and operated and thus might fall short of the brand's promises. Another is that housekeepers are being overworked and have to follow a long list of deep-cleaning standards, and they're bound to fall short. And some of it might be you: Guests are slobs and getting slobbier. (New York Times)
