When you go to a restaurant -- or a doctor's office, or many other places -- they will check your temperature. But experts say that fever checks don't mean anything, that the lack of a temperature doesn't mean you don't have the virus, that those contactless thermometer guns aren't accurate anyway. Besides, most people with a fever ar going to feel it, and they're the least likely to go to a restaurant in that condition. Here's the thing: You hear people call wearing masks "theater," and it's not. But you don't hear the same people call fever checks "theater," and it may be. (New York Times)
