You can't say you weren't warned about automation taking jobs, and so we have the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia with a study saying people whose jobs can be done by robots are experiencing more job loss per capita than others. While most job losses from the pandemic are, they say, expected to be temporary, people who can be replaced with machines are far more likely to be unemployed for good. But it seems that with A.I., EVERYTHING can be automated. Is it time for a Universal Basic Income? (Philadelphia Inquirer)
