'Anthrax, Quebec' Has A Nice Ring To It
-
Big controversy in one Quebec town where they're voting next month on changing the town's name to one of four choices nobody likes, Apalone (a turtle), Jeffrey (a businessman), Phénix (a Phoenix), and Trois-Lacs (Three Lakes, the name of a local lake considered "the worst in Quebec"). The current name? Asbestos. And there's sentiment towards keeping that name, despite it being a toxic fiber and a bad image for a town. (Jeffrey, by the way, was the owner of the asbestos mine in town.) Surely they could have come up with a better alternative. If you had to change the names of towns in your area, what would you come up with? (CNN)
