You're Too Smart For Us

Here's an unusual case of a teen who is being told that she took too many classes and thus can't come back for her senior year and has to go to college early or do something else. Her crime was to get too many credits and be smart. She WANTS to come back for one more year so she can be with friends and graduate with her class. The principal is thus far refusing, and the rationale is "because I can." This is the opposite of the usual kid-races-through-school-early story -- she WANTS to stay and they won't let her. She is, however, learning a valuable lesson: Some adults are devoid of common sense or empathy. (Washington Post)
