It's obvious that the pandemic pushed consumers to do everything online, including shopping, doctor's visits, bill payments, order food. You know that because you do that. But the acceleration of the move of commerce to the online realm is, according to a study by consultants McKinsey & Co., permanent. For most consumers, this is how they're going to do things even after the pandemic's over. The pandemic has changed what was a gradual change to an immediate change, a 10 year evolution into a three-month upheaval. What stuff will you only do online now, and what -- mall shopping? Doctor's visits? -- would you want to go back to the old way? (Wall Street Journal)
