If you lost your job due to the pandemic, that's a gap on your resumé. But prospective employers aren't going to hold that against you, are they? Maybe, maybe not: Long-term unemployment may still carry a stigma even if it wasn't at all your fault. The reason is that employers think being out of work erodes your skills. Some experts think that the pandemic WILL be considered an adequate excuse and won't block re-employment, and some even think that it'll be a plus, that employers will like the idea of hiring pandemic-affected candidates because it will feel good to help the economy recover. But we won't know that until things turn around, whenever that will be. (USA Today)
