Big Deal. It Only Takes An Hour On TV
-
It took over a year, but police have finally arrested a South Jersey couple in a hit-and-run killing of a 72-year-old pizza delivery guy, and the way the cops figured out who did it is a real-life, if boring, episode of "CSI" or "NCIS": they matched paint chips from the scene of the crime to the couple's Nissan Pathfinder. That's how it works on TV, though a lot faster. In real life, forensics are more mundane and not always successful, but in this case, the expectation that fans of those shows have about real-life police work actually worked. (WPVI-TV/Philadelphia)
