The cliche has always been of the writer tapping away at a laptop at a Starbucks or Coffee Bean in Brentwood ("I'm working on my screenplay"). And in the pandemic, one of the things a lot of people have been missing is the ritual of working while sitting in a coffee shop. The question is why people feel more productive and comfortable working in Starbucks than at home. One theory: Background noise helps creativity. Moderate noise has been shown to increase your abstract thinking ability. There's also the visual variety of being away from the same old office. Anyway, where do you feel more comfortable working?
