Think all the way back to the beginning of the pandemic and how one of the first things that happened was that there was a boom in baking and cooking, so much so that there were shortages of staples like flour and eggs. Why that? Why did everyone suddenly become a chef or baker? Turns out that there are, indeed, benefits to kitchen work, like stress reduction (unless, that is, you don't have your timing down and the main course is done 10 minutes before the sides are finished) and immediate gratification and pride when that loaf of bread emerges from the oven all warm and crunchy and good. What did you learn to cook during the pandemic, and are you committed to it from here on out? (BBC)
