Guess The Times Is Taking A Break From Interviewing People In Ohio Diners
-
It could be the ultimate New York Times lifestyle article, almost transcendent in its complete unrelatability to anyone but a wealthy Manhattanite: people steaming up their bathrooms with hot shower steam so they can do hot yoga at home. Strangely, the people cited in the article are from Grand Rapids, Atlanta, Utah... and, yes, the owners of yoga studios in TriBeCa and Brooklyn, because of course. Anyway, they're using their bathrooms, or creating basement yoga rooms and cranking up the heat, and while I'm fine with yoga in general, the hot thing is a trend that hasn't gone away and seems a little silly. On the other hand, I grew up going to gyms and YMHAs that all had steam rooms in the men's locker room for that quick schvitz before a bracing shower, so sweat rooms have been a thing for longer than we've been alive....
