I'll Take Closer To The Ground, Thanks

Residents of New York's 432 Park Avenue are complaining. If you've been to New York in recent years, you'll know the building, the one that sticks out on the skyline like a very narrow sore thumb: for a short time, it was the tallest residential building in the world, and that's the problem. Seems that the place creaks. And has all kinds of water damage issues. And the elevators frequently break. And that all might be a function of its almost 1,400-foot height. The place is sold out, apartments go for millions, the penthouse sold for almost $88 million, and now they're bickering because the tall, thin building creaks in the wind like a rickety boat in choppy waters. Also, I would assume that when New York has its next blackout, there are going to be some upset people on the upper floors when they have to walk up and down. You'd think they'd have thought of that before buying in. (New York Times)
