And now, the bill: People in the U.S. who survive COVID-19 are discovering that some insurance plans don't cover all out-of-pocket expenses for treatment. Even if they largely cover the total amount (which can run into the millions), there might not be an applicable out-of-pocket maximum and you, like the family in this article, may be on the hook for a LOT of money, like $50,000 or so. Honestly, how can a nation allow this to happen? How can your very survival depend on who you work for and how much money you make? How can it be allowed that getting sick through no fault of your own can financially ruin you and your family for life? Why aren't you angry about this and demanding that something be done?
