Is It Better Than Relaxing On The Couch Eating Donuts And Watching TV? I Think Not

In recent years, we've been told of the benefits of high intensity interval training, when you go all out in bursts and then relax and then burst into intense activity again. Now comes a study showing severe problems arising from too much of intense workouts, and further studies are casting doubt on the whole idea of high intensity training versus more moderate exercise. So, once again, they tell us one thing, then the opposite a little later. It just makes you want to find a couch and a box of donuts. (New York Times)
