Food allergies are a thing, and peanut allergies in particular have been a major issue in schools for a while. But now an international panel is suggesting that banning peanut butter has been the wrong way to handle the issue, and the better way would be to allow peanuts but keep epi-pens handy in case a student has a reaction. It turns out that all you get by banning peanuts (or, for that matter, milk or other foods to which someone might be allergic) is that kids don't get the food they like and everyone lets their guards down. Being prepared seems to be enough; an outright ban seems to be overreacting. Is it? Do you have an allergic kid, and are you worried? (CTV)
