Because Life's Too Short
-
This analysis of the widely-reported "labor shortage" -- you know, how businesses are saying they're unable to find willing employees -- contends that it's not just about unemployment compensation or mere hiring difficulties, but that it's a reflection of how people are reassessing their careers and how the pandemic and remote work has people a) hesitant to go back to on-site work and b) deciding to do something else with their lives, or at least deciding to insist on doing things differently, whether sticking with remote work or flat-out changing careers in total, for better conditions, better pay, or just something different to do, even chucking it all and hitting the road, "Nomadland"- style. Has the pandemic changed how you look at your own career? (Washington Post)
