Don't Tell Anybody How Pleasant It Is. It'll Just Get Crowded Again
-
The New York Times' Dan Barry takes the train from Maplewood, NJ to New York, a standard commute that in pre-pandemic times meant packed NJ Transit trains all the way in. Now, there are no crowds; plenty of seats, plenty of room, no crush to get on and off, no noise in the "quiet car." Surely, that'll change as the pandemic eases, right? Or have enough people gotten off the commuting treadmill to change commuting forever? There's been an uptick in ridership as vaccinations increase, but not a huge one. What do you think the new normal of commuting will be? Are we ever going to go back to the way things were in February 2020? (New York Times)
