Don't Forget Your Neatsfoot Oil. Wait, What's A 'Neats'?

Okay, when was the last time you bought a baseball glove? Yeah, me, too, and that's not a problem for baseball since we're well beyond our playing days. (At least, I am.) But it IS a problem when young people don't buy them (or play), and it's been tough to get Black kids into baseball the way they used to be. Enter Steve Friend, who has started the first Black-owned baseball glove company, Steelo, supplying gloves to major leaguers, and he's trying to make baseball gloves cool. And, honestly, the one that he made for Reds pitching prospect Hunter Greene is sweet enough to make me want one, with red and yellow leather and black mesh. Hope he succeeds, and I wonder if you can jump off this to talk about whether your kids are at all interested in baseball and what can baseball do to get kids back into the game. (Los Angeles Times)
