Stay Remote Unless You Can't Be Without Bad Office Coffee And Shared Bathrooms
-
It's still really unclear how the return to working at offices is going to be handled. Some companies are planning hybrid work, like, two days in the office, three remote. Others will keep some workers remote but not others, which raises the concern that the remote workers, separated from the bosses, might be left behind for promotions and raises. Meanwhile, employers are finding that "knowledge workers" -- workers employed for their smarts and expertise -- have figured out that they don't have to come to an office every day and don't want to, so they're dictating the terms, and that worries the bosses (as we saw in another recent article about CEOs). Too bad; remote work rules. Anyway, ask your listeners what the plans are at their jobs and how they feel about it. (Wall Street Journal)
