You DO Remember How To Write By Hand, Don't You?
-
I bet you suspected this but a Johns Hopkins study seems to support it: Learning to read is better when you do it by handwriting than by typing or videos. The researchers had groups try to remember and reproduce letters using all three methods and the people who wrote them out with pen and paper got the hang of things much faster than the others. I think that's the same with note taking and other learning situations -- just the act of writing it out takes more concentration, which makes it less easy but more effective. Science! (CTV)
