Cutting Commissions Hasn't Helped, Either

Turns out nobody wants to be a salesperson anymore. It was always a heavy lift to attract young people to sales, whether for the constant rejection, the Herb Tarlek image, the thought of being trapped in a "Glengarry Glen Ross" situation, or whatever; the money available to salespeople used to be enough, but more young people are looking at sales and saying no thanks. I wonder if you can corral one of your salespeople and have them talk about why they went into it and whether they'd advise a young person to try it. (Wall Street Journal)
