If The Goal Is To Get Wasted, The Cheap Stuff Is Just As Effective
-
It's not the most relatable topics we've had, but it's interesting that there's a market for expensive bourbon, and it appears that some scammers are sellingfakes -- they're putting cheap bourbon in expensive bourbon bottles. Maybe the way to make this relatable is to talk about whether you could tell the difference. I'm sure that's the kind of people who would spend a lot of money on expensive bourbon could tell the difference, but how many people is that? And how many people just say they can tell the difference but really can't? It's like people who are beer snobs, or food snobs, or any kind of snob. Some of them really can't tell the difference between the expensive stuff and the cheap stuff, but most people can't. I'd rather be in the latter group -- you save a lot of money if the store brand's as good to you as the expensive variety. (New York Times)
