In the "frontier" neighborhood between Miami's Overtown and downtown, businesses have been trying to build a community, only to encounter the city's neglect. So local business owners are taking matters into their own hands, repaving and landscaping where the city isn't doing it. They're even starting to create a temporary, makeshift "park" on the site of the demolished Miami Arena rather than leaving it a pile of rubble. Sucks that they have to step in where the city won't, but it's better than the alternative.
