Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal said that he served in Vietnam. He did not. He, in fact, went out of his way to get deferments and gigs that guaranteed he WOULDN'T get shipped overseas. Shouldn't that be, you know, conclusive? He said he served in Vietnam, he didn't, end of campaign, end of job. How is he still being allowed to have a shred of credibility? This isn't a case of misspeaking, as he claims; he flat out said, on several occasions over the years and on the campaign trail, that he served in Vietnam, and speaks of the hostile treatment he experienced when returning to the U.S. That's... an untruth. And that should be dispositive.
