On July 4th, There's The 'What Are You Doing On An Airplane Today?' Surcharge
-
How desperate are airlines? They're slapping "peak travel days" surcharges on flights this summer, $10 to $30 each way. What's a "peak travel day"? Every day all summer but July 4th. Seriously. Every day's "peak" through August 22nd. Why they don't just raise the fare itself, I don't know.
