Not That A-Rod's Hurting For Money
-
The most entertaining part of the Texas Rangers' Chapter 11 bankruptcy? The Rangers still owed A-Rod almost $25 million in deferred salary, and now he'll probably not get it. This is the kind of deal you get when you're a rich man like Tom Hicks and have friends in high places like Bid Selig: To speed the sale of the team to Nolan Ryan and his partner, they're going Chapter 11, thus screwing all the creditors, who'll get only part of what they're owed. Hicks walks away debt-free, Ryan gets the team, and the creditors get to curse not being secured.
