Andrew Romanoff is backtracking a little on whether the White House offered him a job to back out of the Colorado Senate race, saying that he applied and the White House suggested three possible jobs but never formally offered one. But the White House admits that its man called and e-mailed Romanoff "to determine if it was possible to avoid a costly battle between two supporters," according to Robert Gibbs. That sounds like the White House at least looked into the possibility of buying Romanoff off.
