Educators Can Act Uneducated Sometimes
-
A teacher in Philly wrote a blog about her experiences, which is fine. But she decided to criticize a student in a blog post, and that's not fine. Not at all. Even though she didn't use the student's name, the student was identifiable, and the criticism was political -- the teacher ripped the girl for criticizing the president, and offered a more acceptable example that praised Obama. Even the teachers' union guidelines warn not to blog about "job duties, colleagues, supervisors, or students." The ultimate result: The teacher got fired. And her lesson for today: Just because you CAN write about anything you want doesn't mean you SHOULD. (Philadelphia Inquirer)
