I'm A Senator! Senators Can Hit Whatever They Want, Right?
-
A New York state senator running for Attorney General was leaving a TV interview when his driver -- Elena Kagan's niece! -- hit a parked car. And they allegedly fled. When the car owner discovered what had happened and traced the license plate a witness gave, the politician a) denied that there was much damage and b) acted like the trauma to the driver, who cried, was worse than over $3,000 of damage to a woman's car that he had left behind. He denies it was a hit-and-run. His car hit, he ran... what's the debate? And why is this guy not immediately dumped from office? (New York Times)
