Here's a company that makes welding machines, and you wouldn't care about them at all except for one interesting corporate policy: no layoffs, no matter what. As long as you do your job and don't to anything to get fired, you'll have a job. They won't cut costs by shedding salaries. It's always been that way; the attitude is that they'll just find a way to keep everyone employed. How many companies have that attitude? (ABC News)
