Trucks Always Win
-
Like everyone else, I rode bicycles as a kid. But I see bicyclists today and I think, geez, you're taking your life into your hands. Take the young woman who was biking across the country in a charity fundraiser, pulled to the side of the road in South Dakota to check her messages, and was promptly hit by a truck and killed; the truck was towing equipment that slopped over onto the shoulder. And then there's the British adventurer who was taping a Discovery Channel show in rural Arizona when he got hit by a truck and seriously injured with a fractured skull. Bicycles sharing the road with trucks seems like a bad equation. (Minneapolis Star-Tribune; Daily Telegraph)
