Sympathy For A Devil

The Obama administration voiced disapproval of the release of the Lockerbie bomber, but a report in the Sunday Times of London says that it preferred the release in secret because it thought it would be better to release the guy on "compassionate grounds" than to transfer him to a Libyan prison. And that's how ot played out, with the Scottish Justice Secretary buying the fable that the guy had three months to live. He's still alive, and the Scots, and, apparently, the Obama administration, were played for fools. (Sunday Times via The Australian)
